Therapeutic Exercise in Jupiter, FL

Specific movements chosen for your findings, not a generic sheet of exercises.

About Therapeutic Exercise

What Therapeutic Exercise involves

Therapeutic exercise means movement prescribed for a purpose: to restore range of motion at a stiff joint, to build strength where the examination found it lacking, or to retrain a movement pattern that has become a habit. It is distinct from general fitness, which is valuable but is not aimed at a specific finding.

The distinction matters because the right exercise for one person is the wrong one for another with the same complaint. What is appropriate depends on what your examination showed, which is why a sheet of stretches downloaded from anywhere is a poor substitute for instruction.

Dr. Newmark may provide instruction in stretching and exercise as part of the care she offers at her Jupiter office.

What this includes

What you can expect as part of this service:

  • Movements chosen from your own examination findings
  • Instruction in how to perform them correctly
  • Stretching and strengthening as your findings indicate
  • Something you can carry on with between visits
  • Reviewed as your range of motion changes

How we help

Therapeutic Exercise at our Jupiter office

What you are given follows from the exam. Range of motion and muscle strength are assessed at your first visit, existing imaging is reviewed, and the report of findings sets out the problem and how to address it against your lifestyle, goals and obstacles.

Exercise is one of the places the obstacle question earns its keep. A routine that assumes forty spare minutes a day will not happen if you do not have forty spare minutes, so what is suggested is meant to fit the week you actually have.

Adjustments and exercise are often paired, because restoring movement at a joint and building the capacity to use that movement address different halves of the same problem.

If something hurts

Mild muscle soreness after new exercise is ordinary. Sharp pain, numbness, tingling or symptoms spreading down an arm or leg are not, and mean you should stop and raise it at your next visit or call the office.

What to expect on your first visit

Four steps, from the phone call to ongoing care, so you know exactly how your first appointment will go.

  1. Book your appointment

Call our office at 561-781-3770 or complete our online form. Please bring copies of your past x-rays and MRIs to your first appointment.

  2. Consultation & examination

Dr. Newmark discusses your patient history and symptoms, then performs a thorough chiropractic exam to assess range of motion, muscle strength and more. She reviews any diagnostic materials you bring, and may prescribe x-rays if they are needed to assess your spine.

  3. Report of findings

You receive a detailed analysis of the problem that brought you into our office and how to address it, taking into account your current lifestyle choices, your goals for the future and the challenges standing in your way.

  4. Treatment & ongoing care

Payment options

Back to Health is committed to ensuring chiropractic care is accessible to you and your loved ones. We accept Medicare, but Medicare does not cover all charges in a chiropractic office.

We do not submit claims to private health insurance providers. If you opt to request reimbursement from your insurance provider, we can provide an itemized document. With this, you can submit the documentation to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement of services.

By eliminating costly and labor-intensive follow-up communication related to insurance claims, we can lower administrative costs. This lower overhead means lower cost visits for patients.

What our patients say

In our patients' own words

A few of the reviews shared by people treated at our Jupiter office.

Roy A.
Dr. Newmark has the ability to truly feel what her patients are experiencing and a keen understanding of how to treat each one individually. She is a true healer and has really helped me overcome back challenges, I highly recommend her.
Paul H.
Dr. Paula Newmark is amazing! Previous chiropractors made me "sore" from a visit. I have been rear ended three times in 7 years and I only go when needed. She isn't one of those "come every week" type. She is come when you need me. I can't thank her enough for her caring and talent.
Erik K.
My treatment with Dr Newmark has had terrific results. Dr Newmark has helped me get back to a normal life of golfing and doing things I haven't done in years.
Margot T.
Dr Newmark is a true partner on your journey to better chiropractic health.
Jennifer M.
She is an excellent communicator, and she has truly helped me with my chiropractic needs/health.
Victoria C.
I refer to her time and time again to anyone who will listen to me!
