Strength and Balance in Jupiter, FL
Stability is a skill the body keeps only while it is being asked for.
About Strength & Balance
What Strength & Balance involves
Strength and balance are the two qualities that let you move confidently and recover from a stumble. They are closely linked. Balance depends on muscles reacting quickly enough to correct you, and that reaction depends on having the strength available to make it.
Both decline when they are not used, and both respond to being used again. The relevance is broad: steadiness on uneven ground, confidence on stairs, the ability to carry something without bracing awkwardly, and for older adults the question of falls.
Strength and balance is listed among the services offered at Dr. Newmark's Jupiter practice, alongside instruction in stretching and exercise.
What this includes
What you can expect as part of this service:
- Muscle strength assessed as part of your chiropractic exam
- Movement and stability considered together
- Guidance matched to your current level rather than a standard routine
- Progression discussed as part of your report of findings
How we help
Strength & Balance at our Jupiter office
Muscle strength is already part of the thorough chiropractic exam at your first visit, assessed alongside range of motion. That gives a starting point rather than a guess.
Dr. Newmark may provide instruction in stretching and exercise as part of your care, and what she suggests follows the report of findings: a detailed analysis of the problem that brought you in, set against your lifestyle, your goals and the obstacles in the way.
Starting where you actually are matters here more than in most things. Work that is too demanding is abandoned in a week, and work that is too easy changes nothing.
Before you begin
If you have had a fall, feel unsteady without an obvious reason, or have a heart, neurological or inner ear condition, raise it with your physician before starting new strength or balance work. Sudden unexplained loss of balance needs prompt medical assessment.

What our patients say
In our patients' own words
A few of the reviews shared by people treated at our Jupiter office.
Dr. Newmark has the ability to truly feel what her patients are experiencing and a keen understanding of how to treat each one individually. She is a true healer and has really helped me overcome back challenges, I highly recommend her.
Dr. Paula Newmark is amazing! Previous chiropractors made me "sore" from a visit. I have been rear ended three times in 7 years and I only go when needed. She isn't one of those "come every week" type. She is come when you need me. I can't thank her enough for her caring and talent.
My treatment with Dr Newmark has had terrific results. Dr Newmark has helped me get back to a normal life of golfing and doing things I haven't done in years.
Dr Newmark is a true partner on your journey to better chiropractic health.
She is an excellent communicator, and she has truly helped me with my chiropractic needs/health.
I refer to her time and time again to anyone who will listen to me!
